Frontman and singer-songwriter Peter Barnett officially founded The Barnett Collective in his home basement in Town & Country, St. Louis, Missouri in the early Fall of 2023. After years of writing and recording alone – Barnett decided that bringing his vision into existence was long overdue and could be accomplished by establishing a band to emulate his musical goals. The members have varied since founding the group, but the music has nonetheless remained attractive to those committed to the Collective today. Peter’s influences range from The Beatles to Coldplay – and include a variety of singer-songwriters like Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Chris Martin, Freddy Mercury, Ben Folds and Gary Clark Jr. – to name a few. Barnett does have music on iTunes and Spotify; though not studio quality – they do show that he has been active for some time now, is making progress as an artist, and that it is apparent that the time has come for people to know who he is, and what he and The Collective have to offer. There is a story here – an impactful one. Barnett’s vision for the future not only involves writing more, but includes the release of a studio-quality album, and the incorporation of more frequent opportunities for fans to see the Collective live, in and around St. Louis as they expand their following beyond the walls of St. Louis.
