We imagine that you’d like to know a little bit about BB’s. Who we are, what we do, and a brief history of the building which houses BB’s.
The 700 South Broadway building which houses BB’s was known as Phil’s Hotel as late as 1969 and has a very colorful past. Since its original construction in the mid-1800s, in an area then known as “Frenchtown” with a further 3 story addition at the turn of the century, the location has been used as a home, boarding house, reception hall, mercantile, millinery, transient hotel, bar, diner, and a house of ill repute with 37 rooms between the 2nd and 3rd floors. "BB's is a great music venue. With just about 20 tables downstairs it feels intimate and the sound quality is great. We saw the Third Sight Band play and they were awesome. Drinks were strong and not too expensive. Great location, downtown and close to the ballpark."
"If anyone visits STL and wants to hear some Great Blues, then find your way to BB's on Broadway. Just a block south of the ball park, it's a great place before or after a game to sit and enjoy some of the best Blues music the city has to offer."
"BB's is all about the blues, and it does not get any better. The music is fabulous, and the atmosphere is superb. My sweetheart and I were visiting from Seattle, and we absolutely loved the place. The rest of the crowd clearly did, too, because it was full of smiling folks just having a ball listening to live blues."
"I learned about BB's in Missouri 's travel guide, and decided to try it after reading the reviews. Enjoyed the two music sets. This place is great for meeting new people. Met new folks and watched a whole club make new friends all while enjoying good music."
"Visited BB's on a whistle stop tour of St Louis before returning to UK. Arrived shortly before the music started but was welcomed by friendly staff and plied with a very acceptable pale ale! Happily accepted the $5 cover charge once the house band started, would have willingly paid multiples of that, loved them. An unforgettable experience, thank you BB's and thank you St Louis!"
"Went to a ballgame while visiting St. Louis. Afterwards, I wanted to go somewhere with live music and a hip atmosphere. I was directed to this place, it was in walking distance of the ballpark. The place was so welcoming. The bartender was superb, the music was outstanding. "
