Born in the capitol of Missouri, Zamēlia grew up listening and studying vocalists like Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson, and Whitney Houston. She officially began her musical journey in kindergarten and ever since has been in musicals, show choir, orchestra, step team, and choral choir. At the age of 8 years old, she began writing her own music, and a few years later taught herself guitar. Zamēlia likes to describe herself as an artist without limits, often referring to herself as “the immortal ember in a fire.” She has been influenced by every genre and is on a mission to unite and empower people through the infusions of all the inspirations through her storytelling.
In fall of 2021, she performed for the Grammy Award winning duo the Indigo Girls who then invited her to sing with them at their concert at The Umbrella Arts Center in Concord, Massachusetts. She has worked with Berklee alumni and faculty, including Grammy Award winning Paula Cole and Grammy Award nominee Nichelle Mungo. Zamēlia’s debut EP “EVOLVE” will be coming out in early 2024.
