The Faithful Strays

Faithful Strays are a blues-based St. Louis band, featuring a core group of
veteran players who are often complemented by…well, other veteran
players.
Formed in 2020, Faithful Strays has had a couple incarnations, but has
settled into a solid lineup that features long-time St. Louis musicians,
including: Marc Chechik (guitar, vocals), Spencer Marquart (drums,
vocals), Chris “Iron Jaw” Taylor (harp, vocals), Mike Wayne (bass, vocals)
and Amy Wooters (vocals, percussion).
As mentioned, the band is “blues-driven,” but infuse a roulette wheel of
influences – from Joe Turner to Tina Turner, Jimmy Reed to Lou Reed, and
Patsy Cline to Robert Quine. As one enlightened listener describes them,
Faithful Strays are an Americana/Blues band who play originals,
covers…and original covers.
The band is currently working on a seven-song EP, with an expected late
2024 release.
